26 Jul Treat Collisioner
Believe London approached Orchard to help with VFX supervision and Post-Production on a series of ambitious ads for Keurig Dr Pepper and The Original Donut Shop. The concept for the ad centered around merging a coffee pod containing The Original Donut Shop Coffee with a Snickers chocolate bar with the help of a Treat Collisioner, a contraption reminiscent of the Hadron Collider in Cern.
It was going to be a testing project as we only had 3 weeks to complete the post production across many VFX shots. The shoot took place over 2 days in Surrey, which involved working with both elaborate sets and stop motion elements.

BEFORE AND AFTER
Below we have some before and after shots showcasing the level of compositing that was required across a selection of shots.
We started on the shoot with our onset VFX supervisors giving a helping hand to the production crew and director. Offering advice and ensuring the Post-Production process would go as smoothly as possible.
Once the shoot was over, we immediately received the rough cuts from the agency for us to get to work on. Due to the timeframes involved, we would be working with the Log-C footage. Something we have vast experience in doing. We have developed bulletproof working practices and colour know-how to help with such eventualities.
So with the edits signed off, the team went to work on the 30, 15 and four 6-second ads.
Many elements needed to be cleaned up and composited, from entire floor replacements to the CG cup filled with inviting frothy coffee on the endboard.
The opening factory and collider sequences were model shoots we added to in compositing, a cost-effective way to achieve the finished VFX shots.

We also delivered 9:16, 4:5 and 2:3 social versions of each ad, this required re-racking and sometimes animating inside the frame to get the ads to work.
This project was a massive effort from the entire crew on both the production and post-production teams. We are all super happy with the quirky and fun ads we all created.
